In March 2024, we conducted a training on Islamophobia in Artificial Intelligence, gathering a variety of young Muslims in Europe to address the growing concern about the potential for AI to perpetuate and amplify harmful stereotypes and biases. As AI systems are increasingly used in decision-making processes, it is essential to ensure that they are free from discriminatory algorithms and biases, but given the evidence of its existence, we believed it was imperative to educate how it may affect them in everyday life. In doing so, we also aimed to equip them with the knowledge and skills to advocate for ethical AI development, recognise where the lives of their communities can be impacted and contribute to creating a more inclusive and equitable future.
